[Securities & Economy Newspaper = Reporter Kim Seong-geun] The Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation (Chairman Jung Moo-sung) announced on the 29th that it has selected 20 finalists for the 14th cohort of its social innovation entrepreneur development program, “CMK Impactpreneur,” which aims to nurture entrepreneurs leading solutions to social problems in Korea.
“CMK Impactpreneur” is a flagship program under the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Entrepreneurship initiative, formerly known as the “H-OnDream Startup Ground.”
A key feature of “CMK Impactpreneur” is its shift in focus from supporting organizations to supporting individuals (entrepreneurs). Amid growing global economic uncertainty and increasing capital concentration in specific sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), the foundation is focusing not only on financial investment but also on strengthening the core capabilities of entrepreneurs who can turn crises into opportunities.
For the 14th cohort, after a rigorous document screening process and two rounds of in-person evaluations (business assessment and entrepreneurship evaluation), a total of 20 entrepreneurs were selected: 15 in the early-stage track (less than 3 years since incorporation) and 5 in the growth-stage track (3 to under 7 years since incorporation). They presented innovative solutions to various social challenges such as climate change, digital exclusion, and aging populations.
